30% of Millenial women will remain unmarried by age 40.

This past Tuesday, I spoke with Mark Galanos on HLN Now about why this generation isn’t lining up at the altar. Millenials are identfied as adults who were born in the 80’s and 90’s. CNN reports that young adults are on track to have the lowest marriage rates by age 40 than any other generation.

Why is this happening? There’s a few reasons that come to mind. Young adults aren’t as financially stable as previous generations. A bachelor’s degree doesn’t have the same value as 20+ years ago where a secure job is lined up after graduation. Many opt to finish graduate school or feel financially secure before tying the knot. Some would even rather live together or have children before getting hitched.
